Robert Goodings Cup
In 2004, league sponsor
Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, donated the Robert Goodings Cup in
honour of the retired founding Chair of OSPE. The trophy is awarded annually to the Professional Engineers
Curling League Playoff Division ‘B’ Champions.
Prior to this, the winners were awarded the Ryan Cup, which is now presented annually to the runner up team at the “Rock & Ring” Charity Bonspiel. The Ryan Cup was originally donated to the League by Pat Ryan, former General Secretary of the PEO. After presenting the award for most of 37 years, Mr Ryan retired from the task of honouring the winner of the Consolation Playoff round, however he was often heard to joke, "I spent $25 on that trophy in 1965 and I got more than 25 free dinners presenting it year after year. It has been a great investment."
