The Christmas
Bonspiel 
Since the inception of the league, an annual mini-bonspiel has been held on the last curling night before the Christmas Holidays. This event is long-anticipated by all club members (except the skips)....on a rotating basis, each club member gets an opportunity to be skip for part of the evening, while the "lowly skippers" get the chance to display their sweeping prowess by throwing lead rocks in each end.
In a series of mini-games, all curlers get the chance to shake hands, exchange holiday greetings, and take home a bottle of Holiday cheer. The great motivation is that the winning team gets to take home the "best" liquid cheer, which may explain the repeat winners!
Starting in 1996, "official trophies" have been presented to the champions of the Christmas Bonspiel. These awards were donated to the Professional Engineers Curling League by the Humber Highland Curling Club, which was the home of the West Division until Humber's closing in 1997. The West Division Christmas trophy was originally the Humber Highland Business Girls Championship Award and was first presented in 1965 to the Humber Highland Women Champions.
